A long time ago, one of my best friends from college told me she was planning to write a book about her adventures (there have been many). When I checked on her progress a few years back, she said that she's too lazy to write, despite having many exciting experiences traveling the world as a yoga teacher. I jokingly suggested that she buy a digital recorder, talk into it and send me the files, and I'd compile her stories into a book. Apparently it wasn't such a joke, because for the last two years I've been receiving these sound files into my Gmail account. Every other mailbox was too small to handle the large files, but not Gmail! Now, not only am I able to hear my friend's voice from around the world, but someday when all these tales become a fabulous book, we'll have Gmail to thank!
