I find the Gmail web application amazingly useful as a student. I have organized my classes into filters and labels to avoid my inbox from getting cramped by all the "e-savvy" teachers. I could never ignore so many deadlines/teachers/class notes without your filters! One thing I truly love is the Gmail application for cellphones. I love to open up my phone late at night (time difference is mean) and check and see if the wonderously cute Japanese girl has replied to my email. Then I sit and type in Japanese back which is really good for practicing fluency! If, say in the middle of one of my longer drafts with a huge chunk of japanese my phone dies I can rest assure that Gmail has already saved what I wrote into a draft.
