Gmail: Google's approach to email

Gmail: In Your Words

There's so many things about Gmail that have completely changed what I even consider email to be anymore. Email used to be something that I never wanted to see more then 5-6 messages in my inbox at a time, but now, I love to log in and see 20+ messages. Gmail is my own personal organizer. Every website I visit is set up to send me reminders for messages or events or updates. I even put in my own reminders, often joking with my friends that "using Gmail is better then putting sticky notes all over my screen." Gmail made the flash drive obsolete for me. I used to carry a flash drive around, and it wouldn't always work, leaving me with massive headaches. I even began making two copies of everything, one CD and the flash drive, to carry with me to important presentations. But now, I just use Gmail. That way, not only is my information reliably accessible from anywhere, but it stores it in the Gmail system at the same time. Gmail is also a great backup for all of my writing. I've lost hundreds and hundreds of pages over the years through various computer crashes, so now everything I have is archived in Gmail. I haven't deleted very many messages since I opened my Gmail account in Oct 2004, and being able to go back and pull up any random email that I've needed from that time period, which has been surprisingly frequently, has been a tremendous resource. Best of all, Gmail has been nearly SPAM FREE for me for 3 years. I could likely count the number of spam e-mails I've seen in my inbox on two hands, total. Considering that Gmail filters out about 700 spam mails for me per month, that's quite an amazing accomplishment. Gmail has also never sent a legitimate message to the spam box, something my former e-mail was notoriously awful about. Thank you for creating such a great service and showing everyone how email should really be done. Gmail - You...complete me.
