Gmail: Google's approach to email

Gmail: In Your Words

The MAIN reason I switched my son's school from exchange server was Gmail's spam fighting. All the other stuff in Gmail is cool, but the spamfighting was the deal-maker. In my personal Gmail and I see 973 spam in my folder right now and in 4 years I have yet to get a significant false positive. False positives are the bane of spam programs and caused us endless grief when we hosted a mail server. You could either suffer spam or lose legitimate email. In the spam-prone aliases, the spam cleansing is staggeringly effective. Looking now, I see 230 spam there. Our volunteer webmasters love the relief, since Gmail "washes" the mail feed before forwarding it to their "lesser" mail services. I could never use a non-Gmail account anymore. I am spoiled for life. And it is your fault. Excuse me while I go study Esperanto now.
