I just simply love the chat feature of Gmail. It enables my girlfriend and I to keep in touch at home and at work easily without installing some other third party software. The most impressive thing is when I am using Google Talk and she uses the standard Gmail AIM chat and we are still enabled to talk to one another over the different platforms.
