Gmail: Google's approach to email

Gmail: In Your Words

A few years ago, I was checking various websites that I frequent for their yearly April Fool's jokes. I happened to find out that Google had launched an email service offering a free gigabyte of storage. Great joke! I laughed and moved on to the next website to catch their joke. A few days later, I got an invite from a buddy to Gmail. What is this? I thought this was a joke? I created my account, and I looked around the Gmail interface. I was amazed. It didn't look like your average webmail interface. It was easy on the eyes. It was smooth. It was pretty. It was easy. It worked. Everything about Gmail was revolutionary. Threaded "conversations", ever-increasing storage capacity, POP (and now IMAP) support, Chat, search... It was perfect. It was all I needed in an email service and more. And best of all, it was all for free. Needless to say, Gmail has completely replaced many other email services I've used in the past. Now I have everything forward to my Gmail account into one collective pool of information, and I couldn't be happier. I enjoy the services I have so much that I would PAY to have these if they weren't already offered for free!
